Puppy Start Right

1.5 hr visit
From £60 (location dependent)

For brand new additions to the family a home visit in the early days can make all the difference and set you on the right path. With so many conflicting opinions and advice available online it can be overwhelming and hard to know what the best thing to do is or even to know what you have done by getting this puppy! In this visit we will discuss all your concerns and I will teach you how to guide your puppy kindly in the right direction. This is an incredibly stressful and delicate time for your puppy and I am passionate about helping you to understand what they need at this time. We will discuss all of the necessary topics such as play biting, socialisation, toilet training, sleep routine, play, diet, grooming, body language plus other things appropriate to your family such as mixing them with existing pets successfully or how to manage children and puppy relationships safely for everyone.

Rescue Start Right

2.5 hr visit
£140

Very often when adult dogs are adopted we can find that the situation is wholly stressful and not the quick fix happy ending you may have envisaged or wished for this dog. They can struggle with separation issues, anxiety, upset tummies, sleep disturbances and many more problems as they settle into their new family. They can even show aggression if they feel overwhelmed. They may find it hard to integrate with your existing pets, too. I can help!
I have first hand experience of living with traumatised dogs, ‘second hand’ dogs, injured dogs, happy confident rehomed puppies and adult dogs. I have worked in kennels and understand why dogs find it hard.
I’m happy to come to your home and assess your dog, discuss your goals and set a training plan in place to achieve your goals as well as help your dog to integrate into your family with minimal stress. It’s a very overwhelming time for dogs and I feel so passionate about helping you to have realistic expectations as well as helping the dog themselves to overcome their worries and start to enjoy their new life.
In this visit you can expect to learn how dogs learn and what they need from you at this time, how to watch their body language and respond appropriately, how to toilet train if that’s needed, establishing sleep routines and starting some confidence building exercises. You will enjoy learning together and your bond will get stronger. We will discuss diet, food rewards and how to use them effectively and much more. There will be plenty of time for you to ask questions and we can set the training plan to work at your dogs pace. There can be no rushing at this delicate time and we will remain considerate of your dogs emotional state and needs as we progress with our journey together.
