Hi, I'm Shelley. I want to help you and your dog lead a happy life together and am looking forward to showing you how kind and effective, reward based methods and an ethical approach can help you build a fantastic relationship with your dog built on mutual respect and understanding.

 

Whether you have a puppy, adult dog or rescue dog I am here to help.

Pooling my knowledge from working in the veterinary industry for 30 years, a 16 year career in dog training as well as having boarded dogs in my family home, walked dogs and owned 8 dogs of my own (not at the same time!), I feel I have a great understanding of our canine companions and how kind, reward based methods and an ethical approach can help you build a fantastic relationship with your dog built on mutual respect and understanding.

 

I have professionally recognised qualifications and accreditations to ensure the well-being of your dog.

As part of my ongoing commitment to keep up to date with the latest force free techniques and scientific advances, I ensure a minimum of 30 hours of continued learning every year. You can be sure that your dog is in safe hands and your learning journey together will be both a positive and stress free experience.

I believe that to observe the dog and listen to their body language as well as having an understanding of breed traits and characteristics is key to understanding their needs and essential if we are to be successful at teaching them new skills.

Management of the learning environment, observation skills for health and well-being awareness, understanding rewards and how to use them effectively, understanding punishment and it’s consequences, how and when to progress exercises for long term success are all things you can expect to be taught and understand when you choose to work with me.
